British Airways Introduce Option To Pre-Order Meals on Long Haul Flights
The option to pre-order meals on British Airways flights is soon to become a reality for Premium customers.
From 18 November BA customers will be able to pre order their main course online when travelling in British Airways’ First, Club World (business class) and World Traveller Plus (premium economy) cabins on flights from 1 December from London Heathrow.
Customers can simply select their meal 30 days before their flight departure, up until 24 hours prior to take-off through the ‘manage my booking’ tool on ba.com.
The pre-order service will initially be available on flights between Heathrow and Las Vegas, Phoenix, Rio de Janeiro, Vancouver, Dallas and Seattle, with more routes to be added in early 2015.
Lynn McClelland, British Airways’ head of Catering, said: “We want to improve our customers’ on board experience by guaranteeing their first choice from our onboard menu and we believe that this will provide a personalized service to our customers.
We have been investing in improving our customer experience and this is one enhancement that gives control back to the customer. Additionally we’ve given our cabin crew iPads that enable them to access personal preference data provided by our customers, so they’re able to deliver a more bespoke service.
This new option to pre-order their meal before-hand is part of that programme of tailoring our service to each individual.
”We believe this new service will prove a real hit with our customers, as well as delivering the environmental benefits of less wastage on board.”December 2nd, 2014
